Vayishlach is a installation that allows visitors to write out or draw the text of the chapter of The Book of Genesis of the same title. Utilizing a Wacom tablet, visitors can select a word to draw. The results of their work are saved to the computer's memory and then arranged to form the collection of submissions as paragraphs of the text.
The installation was commissioned by the Contemporary Jewish Museum for its show "Texting the Torah". The custom software was created in the C++ programming language using the OpenFrameworks library.
c++/openFrameworks, Wacom tablet, Apple MacMini computer.
